With sales of 301,903 new vehicles last month, 170,150 of which were fully electric, BYD was ahead of Nissan with 279,102 vehicles. This significant growth strengthens BYD’s global dominance as the company moves closer to Tesla’s position as the best-selling electric vehicle maker worldwide.

BYD’s international expansion, particularly in key markets such as Japan, Europe, Thailand, Brazil and others, has contributed significantly to the company’s unprecedented success. As BYD continues to aggressively reduce prices and prepares for a potential price war, its CEO Wang Chuanfu has expressed confidence that it will gain market share in the next three to five years.
