MTS has launched a preview version of the Nuum video service, the company’s press service informed RB.RU. Users will be able to upload vertical and horizontal videos and perform live broadcasts similar to YouTube.

MTS will launch an analogue of YouTube on the Nuum platform

The company was preparing to relaunch the WASD service, but has now proposed switching to a new platform. The full launch of Nuum is planned for 2024, while users will be able to send donations to the authors of the videos.

MTS hopes the service will become popular amid restrictions on the monetization of foreign video services. However, participants in the video services market interviewed by Kommersant doubt that the site will attract traffic “from conscious visitors.” You will also have to find a system to monetize content with a small audience.

  • In March 2019, MTS announced the launch of its own media platform for gamers, WASD.TV, whose users will be able to participate in esports tournaments and host game broadcasts. Users of the platform could earn virtual currency for their activities, which they could spend on promoting their streams and encouraging other streamers.
