This innovation is part of Apple’s broader initiative to introduce AI features.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the new microphones will have an improved signal-to-noise ratio, which will allow Siri to better recognize the user’s voice and increase dictation accuracy.
Improved voice clarity with less noise promises to significantly improve your voice assistant experience.
Additionally, the waterproofness of the new microphones will be increased. This will not only improve Siri’s performance, but will also improve the audio quality of videos captured in the Camera app and improve the quality of voice calls.
According to Kuo, the new microphone components will be produced by AAC and Goertek. The cost of these components will likely double, if not triple, compared to the iPhone 15 microphones.
