When you’re trying to stay warm in the winter, you usually wear several layers of clothing. However, if you do this before bed, it can affect your circulation and increase your risk of developing infections.
Sock. If you walk in them for a long time, especially if they are tight rather than loose, they can disrupt blood circulation. It is best to either wear no socks or socks one size larger than your own size. A recent study revealed that socks harbor bacteria such as E. coli and pseudomonas just as much as carpet. Sleeping with socks also increases the likelihood of developing fungal foot infections such as athlete’s foot.
Underwear. There is no point in wearing underwear, especially panties, before going to bed. This will create less moisture in the genital area, which means there will be less risk of fungal infections and bacterial growth.
tight pajamas. These clothes can restrict blood flow, which can lead to disrupted night sleep and discomfort that may cause you to wake up at night. If you’re wearing pajamas, avoid fleece fabrics and opt for something cotton.
To get enough sleep, do not wear socks and underwear before going to bed, prefer loose pajamas made of cotton or silk.
