The second generation Optimus differs from its predecessor with a 30% increased speed and a 10 kg reduced weight.
But the real improvement is in the area of fine motor skills: The robot can now interact with small and fragile objects using “all-finger tactile sensing”. This ability was demonstrated in a video where Optimus deftly picks up an egg from the bowl with one hand and transfers it to the other.
