The 1989 Lamborghini Countach from Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street sold at auction for $1.655 million and topped Sotheby’s auction in New York.
We are talking about the car from the legendary scene in Scorsese’s 2013 film, in which Leonardo DiCaprio’s hero drives drunk.
The amount received for the car was a record for this model. The previous record was 880 thousand dollars.
Two identical models took part in the filming, one of which was seriously damaged, as the film’s plot demanded. It was put up for auction before, but the car was never sold.
In total, cars worth 13.61 million dollars were sold at the auction, with the most expensive lot being the 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic, purchased for 2.4 million dollars.
Previously, memorabilia from the Twitter office, which Elon Musk renamed X, was sold at an auction in the United States.
