If such risks are detected, RKN recommends that providers block access to the bot.
GPTBot was launched by OpenAI in August 2023 to crawl websites and collect publicly available data to improve the ChatGPT neural network. At the same time, the company itself provided instructions on how to block the bot or provide limited access.
Experts state that such bots can be used not only for peaceful purposes but also by cybercriminals.
If such AI agents are massively blocked on the network, businesses developing the technology will need to find new ways to collect data, perhaps disguising bots as the activities of real users.
