The department calls for blocking the bot’s ability to scan pages to “prevent the collection of information about vulnerabilities of critical resources.” Kommersant reviewed the content of the letter.
Suppliers received a letter from the Main Radio Frequency Center subordinate to Roskomnadzor on December 11. It explains the need to assess the risks of collecting information about the vulnerability of resources or “other sensitive information, including those containing personal data.”
If risks are detected, it is recommended to block the bot request. The department has prepared instructions for this.
OpenAI, which develops the ChatGPT chatbot, introduced the GPTBot search bot on August 8. Collect information from all over the Internet to train language models.

The expert recalled that OpenAI initially provided instructions on how to limit the bot’s access to certain pages.
