Scientists from the Institute of Personalized Oncology at Sechenov University have developed a computer model to detect new tumor markers. These markers are important for accurate diagnosis and selection of cancer treatment strategy. The model automatically analyzes thousands of molecular pathways within the cell caused by changes in the functioning of 3 thousand genes.
The process of a normal cell turning into a cancerous cell is accompanied by significant changes affecting thousands of genes in the genome. Scientists have proposed a new analysis method that examines molecular interactions in a tumor cell. This allows for more complete process information and less risk of error compared to existing methods.
Anton Buzdin, Principal Investigator of the Institute of Personalized Oncology, emphasized that the new model provides high-quality tumor markers, making it a powerful tool in diagnosing cancer and predicting patient survival.
