A complex work, which has led us to a new Council resolution, to a complex administrative process and which we are now realizing, thanks to the offices, the Municipality of Rome VIII and the availability of the Tormarancio consortium.
Maurizio Veloccia, Councilor for Urbanism of the capital Rome
It was an opening expected for many years, it was allowed by the new agreement between Roma Capitale and the Tormarancio Consortium. The public green space is more than 13 hectares with playgrounds for children including playful furniture and benches. The area was due to open in mid-2021, but there was no viable agreement for future management. Then the resolution was approved in May 2022.
An important step, made possible thanks to the work of Councilor Veloccia, which testifies to the will and determination of this government to break the bureaucratic impasses that have immobilized the city in recent years by making parks and green spaces available to the city for uninhabitable for a long time, as in the case of the Volusia Park and the Cellulose Park.
Sabrina Alfonsi, Councilor for Agriculture, Environment and Waste Cycle of the capital Rome
Today we are cutting the ribbon on an area that has been blocked for months and months and for which the citizens and the municipality have been fighting and fighting. Now the construction of the largest urban park in Europe is closer, ready from today to work on the recovery of the area of the Via Sartorio, the Casali, the natural areas, the agricultural land to carry out a larger project where the city meets participates in the Appia Antica Park and draws a unique piece that only Rome can boast of.
