The parallel import mechanism has been extended until 2024. The list of products for such imports will gradually decrease as the market fills with Russian-made products. During the two years of the parallel import program, $70 billion worth of goods were imported into Russia.
The government has extended the parallel import mechanism until 2024. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, told RIA Novosti about this.
According to Manturov, the list of goods permitted for parallel import will be reduced. This will happen when Russian producers reach the specified volume and quality indicators, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Previously, the First Vice President of the Russian Government, Andrei Belousov, stated that during the two years of operation of the parallel import mechanism, goods worth 70 billion dollars were imported into Russia.
Meanwhile, the Russians began to have difficulties with warranty repairs on goods purchased as part of parallel imports. Warranty repairs for a product purchased on a Russian market were refused because it was not intended for the Russian market.
