According to a survey conducted by Mediacom.Expert in cooperation with Surveyolog.ru, the majority of Russians (74%) consider Telegram to be their main news source. Almost half (49%) of respondents see Telegram as a messaging tool, while the remaining 51% see it as a full-fledged social network. At the same time, 61% regularly use Telegram to watch videos, and 14% do this every day.
The majority of respondents (65%) chose Telegram as the messaging tool of the year, while WhatsApp came in second with 29% and Viber came in third with 2%. 65 percent of Russians said they would follow the news from social networks in 2023, 60 percent from television, 58 percent from news sites, 52 percent from information sources and 22 percent from radio.
When it comes to using chatbots, 76% of respondents said they used them and 80% said they found them convenient. Only 20% of users think chatbots are objectionable. 1,400 working Russians participated in the survey; The study was conducted between November 30 and December 10, 2023.
