The United States will cede leadership to China as the world’s largest economy in 2037

China will overtake the United States in the list of the world’s largest economies and occupy a leading position in it in 2037. This is stated in the report by the British Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).

In 2026, Japan will rise to third place, overtaking Germany. According to the report, the German economy will weaken due to low GDP growth. India will be behind Germany, but in 2035 it will surpass Germany and take third place.

According to the center, in 2038 the share of European countries in world GDP will be 19.2%, Asia’s share will increase from the current 20.8% to 33.9%.

Russia currently ranks eighth on the list of the world’s largest economies, but will fall to 14th place in 2038, according to the report.
