Nearly a third (30%) of Russian lawyers express concerns about the widespread use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal field. Their main fear is that the use of artificial intelligence may reduce lawyers’ ability to think critically and make them dependent. According to 20 percent, there is a risk of increased errors when using artificial intelligence, and another 20 percent are unsure about additional threats to personal data security and privacy.

Despite these concerns, approximately 30% of lawyers are positive about the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in their profession. Kirill Kondratenko, IT expert and deputy general director of PravoTech, emphasizes that artificial intelligence cannot completely replace lawyers, as case law requires an integrated approach. He proposes using artificial intelligence to automate routine tasks such as preparing standard documents or processing standard requests.

Kondratenko also explains that the introduction of artificial intelligence into the legal field will occur gradually, given the conservatism in this area. Despite some concerns, he emphasizes that artificial intelligence will not replace the basic functions of lawyers, but rather can assist them in daily operations.
