Steam will stop supporting Windows 7 and 8

The computer game distribution platform Steam will stop supporting Windows 7 and 8 operating systems on January 1. The developer reported this on his blog.

Steam will no longer provide technical support for the service to users who have Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 installed. In addition, the developer does not guarantee the stable operation of its service on these operating systems.

According to Steam’s own data, the proportion of users of the service who have the Windows 10 operating system or higher installed is almost 99%.

The end of support is due to the fact that the main functionality of Steam is based on the built-in version of Google Chrome, which has already stopped supporting older versions of operating systems.
