According to this rating, in 2023, Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX and Tesla, once again became the richest person on the planet.
The top five in the ranking are like this:
- owner of Tesla, SpaceX, xAI and X Elon Musk with a total capital of 229 billion dollars,
- owner of LVMH, Moet, Hennessy, Louis Vuitton Bernard Arnault with a total capital of 179 billion dollars,
- Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with a total capital of 177 billion dollars,
- Microsoft founder Bill Gates, with a total capital of 141 billion dollars,
- Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer with a total net worth of $131 billion.
At the same time, Jeff Bezos increased his capital over the year by about $50 billion, Arnault by less than $20 billion, Gates by about $30 billion.
Among those increasing their wealth are also Mark Zuckerberg (+80 billion dollars and sixth position in the ranking), Larry Page (+43 billion dollars and seventh position), Sergey Brin (+40 billion dollars and ninth position). Warren Buffett closes the top ten with an increase of about $12 billion.
In total, during 2023, the total net worth of the 500 richest entrepreneurs on the planet increased by $1.5 trillion.
Also this week it was learned that Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, heiress to the L’Oreal empire, became the first woman whose fortune exceeded $100 billion.
