A patent filed by the United States Patent Office (USPTO) shows concepts Apple is researching for the Vision Pro. It can display content on the external screen, show quick information and user activity.
The document, written by former Apple employee Jony Ive, shows how the EyeSight external display can be used to interact with other people. The component can display stickers, health data, apps in use (including Zoom), and even a “Do Not Disturb” alert for moments of concentration.
The display can also be used to show what the user sees in real time. In this way, it can show content (photos, videos and applications) to those around it, just like on a mobile phone.
In the announcement of the device, it was shown as follows: The external display serves to display a wallpaper and the user’s eyes, making it easier to talk to other people. Although the patent concepts have not been implemented, it is possible to see how the company achieved the final product.
However, it is also possible to implement some ideas into the device. EyeSight is a display format that is little explored in the market, so Apple may take the opportunity to explore ways to use this accessory.
Apple Vision Pro not yet available
Until now, Apple Vision Pro is not available for sale. The augmented reality headset was presented at WWDC 2023, but no date was given when it is expected to hit shelves.
Latest rumors suggest that the launch of the mixed reality headset will take place in March. However, the company has not yet made a statement on the issue.
In addition to not having confirmed sales in Brazil, the headset will be priced at a steep price of US$3,499 (approximately R$17,230).
