While Google had previously made vague promises that additional SIM cards would be included “later”, now the software code speaks volumes. Lines like “Send and receive RCS chats on %1$d SIM” and “%1$s SIM RCS Passthrough” paint a clear picture: you’ll soon be able to choose which SIM will enjoy rich per-number RCS benefits on a basic basis.

This will come as a real surprise to international users and anyone who uses multiple numbers for personal and professional purposes. You no longer need to choose which number will have advanced messaging features.

But before we start celebrating with confetti, we have a warning. Although the code demonstrates the intent, the functionality itself is not ready yet. Google still has a lot of work to do.
