Gibson reached level 157 in the original version of the game, but Tetris later froze due to software restrictions in the code. Previously, the only “player” to reach the final level in Tetris was the AI.
It is therefore believed that Willis Gibson is the first person in Tetris history to “get this far”. He said in an interview with The New York Times that he could not feel his fingers.
