Jeffries analyst Edison Lee reported that Apple experienced a 30 percent year-over-year decline in iPhone sales in China in December 2023.

The rest of the market was growing, with Huawei seeing the biggest growth thanks to its Mate 60 line. Huawei shipped 35 million smartphones last year. Interestingly, only minor supply restrictions prevent the company from achieving even greater records.

According to Jeffries, Apple will face a halving of iPhone sales in 2024. Sellers are expected to offer discounts on iPhones to remedy the situation.

The Mate 60 Pro uses a new 7nm processor made in China, customized for the local market. It was created to circumvent US restrictions.
