Total PC sales fell 13% by 2022, according to a report by analytics firm Canalys. However, the fourth quarter of 2023 saw a slight increase of 3%, ending seven consecutive quarters of sales decline.

Total sales in the fourth quarter reached 65.3 million units, including 51.6 million laptops (up 4%) and 13.7 million desktops (down 1%).

Despite the overall market decline in 2023, Canalys experts expect the PC market to gain additional momentum in the near future due to the introduction of artificial intelligence and PC upgrades.

Among PC manufacturers, Lenovo leads with 16.1 million units sold in the fourth quarter and total sales of 59.1 million units in 2023.

HP ranked second with 6% growth in the last quarter and total sales of 52.9 million units in 2023, but this figure was 4% less than in 2022.

Dell maintains third place with sales of 9.9 million units in the fourth quarter and a total of 40 million units for the year.
