The American mink is a skillful and aggressive predator that does not like any prey, from farm birds to representatives of wild fauna: sand swallows, kingfishers, other rodents and even frogs and toads. But the real victim of the American mink was the water vole. Since the 1950s, the population of this family of hamsters in England has decreased by 96%, since the time when mink began to actively develop in the country.

Due to the threat to birds and mammals, a project to reduce mink numbers in East Anglia has been developed and positive results have been achieved. Now it is proposed to completely destroy the population throughout Britain, currently the number of invasive minks is at least 100 thousand individuals.

The American mink first appeared in Britain in the 1920s, the animals were brought to fur farms for fur: the mink has a beautiful chocolate brown color. But then the animals began to escape, displacing and destroying the local fauna.
