Mercury’s atmosphere is extremely thin. The planet’s magnetic field is too weak to maintain an atmosphere, and Mercury also lacks the tectonic activity and internal heat that could replenish and maintain an atmosphere.

So is life possible on Mercury? Unfortunately, no. And this is due to the extreme conditions on this planet. Due to the almost complete absence of atmosphere, its temperature ranges from -173 to +430 degrees Celsius. Also for this reason, all living organisms on Mercury will be exposed to strong radioactive radiation.
