Copilot Pro, introduced as a faster and more efficient alternative, is showing slowdown according to subscriber reports. Microsoft’s paid alternative to its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, announced last week, has issues even with GPT-4 Turbo enabled.
Complaints about the chatbot were collected on day X (formerly Twitter) after the chatbot’s launch. The subscription promised priority and rapid response even during peak access times.
@MParakhin Copilot pro is very slow right now, not sure why 🙁 maybe like less than 1 coin per second, it was burning fast in the morning, now specifically GPT 4 creative mode is not on turbo. pic.twitter.com/m8avrzYJ1L

“Copilot Pro is very slow right now and I don’t know why,” the user said in a post. “Maybe it’s generating less than one token per second. It was pretty fast in the morning,” he added.
Copilot Pro problem may be in the browser
It looks like the problem is with the browser, not Microsoft’s servers. Mikhail Parakhin, Microsoft’s director of advertising and web services at X, stated that MS server activity is normal and the problem is with the client.
According to him, it is possible that the slowness is caused by Microsoft Edge. Browser efficiency mode may reduce program performance to save battery power.

In another post, the admin suggested that subscribers disable the feature while using the chatbot. This option is located in the “Browser Basics” section in the three-dot menu.
Another subscriber in the same thread reported that he was still experiencing performance issues with Copilot Pro even with productivity mode turned off. According to him, there is a memory leak issue that may affect the chatbot’s performance in Microsoft Edge.
Copilot Pro is only available on PC
In another post, Parakhin reinforced that Copilot Pro is available exclusively in Microsoft Edge for computers. The developed chatbot cannot be accessed on Android or iOS for now because the company is still developing the update for the new feature.
