On February 12, 2024, the grand final of the annual RB Digital Awards will take place, which are awarded to the best cases in the field of digital transformation. Every year, the statuettes for the winners become an important detail of the event. This time we developed them together with SteelMasters, a leading partner of Severstal PJSC and creator of products made from premium weather-resistant FORCERA steel, known as Corten steel.
The event will be held with the support of friends of the prize “Edge Center” — a single center of competence for innovative IT infrastructure and services. The company offers its clients world-class IT solutions, regardless of conditions, location and complexity of tasks. AND “Base” — one of the leading Russian developers of software products for the provision of cloud services and dynamic infrastructure platforms.
RB Digital Awards launched in 2020 and we have held three awards since then. The 2021 winners received figures made of glass, symbolizing the fragility of our world (the prize was awarded in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic), in 2022, from recycled plastic from the Pacific, in 2023, covered with a white case, as the Russian. The technological sphere turned out to be hidden from the world.
The material chosen for the RB Digital Awards 2024 statuettes was FORCERA steel, a weather-resistant steel widely used in architecture, landscaping and interior design. Its peculiarity is that under the influence of the external environment it acquires a beautiful brick tone, while remaining resistant to corrosion.
Why steel? In recent years we have observed how Russian companies have adapted to the changing reality, encountered and made difficult decisions, in a word, hardened like steel in the face of external circumstances. Our FORCERA steel figures are a symbol of strength and determination. They will serve to remind their owners how much they had to do to stay the course even in those moments.
“We are very happy to have been lucky enough to participate in creating awards for the RB Digital Awards 2024, especially since our team is an active reader of RB.RU. As a rule, we deal with large-scale projects, but this time, one could say, we were doing jewelry work: the smaller the product, the more difficult it is to work with. To produce the figures we decided to involve several organizations that helped us realize such an interesting idea.
To make the figures we used 20mm thick steel, from which blanks were cut with a laser machine, then welded, cleaned, polished, mechanically engraved, oxidized and surface engraved to give the products a finished look.
We hope that the winners of the RB Digital Awards 2024 will be pleasantly surprised by the considerable weight and appearance of the award and that it will take pride of place on their shelves.”— Anton Lukashevich, Commercial Director of SteelMasters.
