Russian clothing retailer Melon Fashion Group (MFG) has filed an application to register the Love Republic Beauty trademark in early 2024, Shopper’s noted. Creams, perfumes, lipsticks, hair care products, etc. can be produced under the brand.
According to Dmitry Tomilin, general director of Eterna, domestic fashion retailers have practically no experience in the production of cosmetics and perfumes; “They study global practices and choose the best business models, trying to imitate foreign brands.”
Melon Fashion Group appeared in 2005. It owns the brands Zarina, befree, Love Republic and Sela. According to the Rusprofile service, Melon Fashion Group JSC received revenue of 46 billion rubles at the end of 2022 with a net profit of 7.3 billion rubles.
