A large-scale failure occurred in the RU domain area. The Downradar service reports thousands of user complaints about the operation of Internet resources in Russia: sites do not open, search engines do not work.
Users from different regions of Russia report large-scale disturbances in the operation of Russian Internet resources. This is evidenced by Downradar data.
According to current data at the time of this publication, interruptions in the operation of dozens of resources have been observed in the RU domain zone: search engines, banking applications, markets and websites of telecom operators.
On Tuesday, January 30, cloud provider Selectel also suffered an outage. The company’s press service noted that externally verification of the authenticity of records in the DNS zone .ru has stopped working.
“Most likely, a signing error occurred during the next scheduled change to the .ru DNS zone file. Since then, the authenticity of the requests has not been verified,” they noted in the company’s press service.
The Ministry of Digital Development later reported that access to Runet sites would be restored in the near future.
“A technical problem has arisen affecting the .RU zone associated with the global DNSSEC infrastructure. Specialists from the Internet Technical Center and MSK-IX are working to eliminate it,” said the Ministry of Digital Development.
