The former Paulig plant in Russia has begun commercial production of coffee capsules compatible with Nespresso coffee machines. The product will be 30 to 40% cheaper than the original capsules imported from abroad. Sales will begin March 1.
Coffee manufacturer Poetti has started producing coffee capsules compatible with Nespresso coffee machines. This was reported by the press service of the Milfoods company, owner of the Poetti brand.
“We will be able to offer consumers premium coffee in world-class capsules, which will be 30-40% more profitable than foreign counterparts,” said Mikhail Glukhov, Marketing Director of Milfoods.
Investments in the development of new products, the purchase of a production line and its total commissioning amounted to more than 100 million rubles, the company’s press service reported.
Finnish company Paulig sold the Russian business in May 2022 to Indian investor Vikas Soi. He changed the name from Paulig Rus to Milfoods and began producing coffee under the Poetti brand.
The closure of Nespresso brand stores in Russia by Nestlé became known in December 2022. Nestlé subsequently suspended the direct supply of Nespresso coffee capsules to Russia.
