The investigation, which the organization launched in March last year, concluded with the publication of the results on Monday and the allegations have already been reported to OpenAI.
The Italian regulator said in a statement that information received showed one or more violations of European Union laws by OpenAI. The company was given 30 days to respond to the investigation.
OpenAI is an artificial intelligence research company based in San Francisco and backed by Microsoft. In recent years, technology giants such as Microsoft and Google have been actively using artificial intelligence technologies to improve their products and services.
