MTS specialists analyzed the Russian headphone market.
According to the operator, in 2023, 30.6 million headphones worth 62 billion rubles were sold in Russia. This is up 43% in numbers and 23% per day compared to last year.
At the same time, wireless headphones accounted for 58% of all sales. This is the main driver of growth.
In total, from January to December 2023, almost 18 million “liners” were sold with a total value of 44.7 billion rubles. At the end of 2022, sales increased by 56% in units and by 17% in money.
MTS analysts note that the growing popularity of TWS headphones is associated with the form factor and low price. Over the past year, their average cost has decreased by 25%, to 2.5 thousand rubles. At the same time, the price of standard headphones increased by 10%, to 1.4 thousand rubles.
Last year, the most popular group was “no names” (headphones without brand) rose to 46%. Next come Xiaomi with 7% (from 9%) and Apple from 5% (from 8%).
