After several rumors, Nothing, a company created by one of the founders of OnePlus, has confirmed the future launch Telephone (2a)it is, let’s say, the first mid-range smartphone that competes in the sub-400 euro price range with features inherited from the phone (2), but with some more subtle features.

At the moment, Nothing has not revealed the release date of the new mobile phone. He only confirmed his name: Telephone (2a)showing that it is a cheaper variant of the flagship, as companies like Google also use the ‘A’ nomenclature to differentiate their cheaper models like the Pixel 7a.

Nothing accompanied the announcement of the future release of the first mid-range mobile phone with image showing part of the device. This, however, does not allow us to conclude what its design will be and whether it will be equipped with a rear light like the phone (2). Now, according to the leak, the smartphone will have a slightly different design than the company’s current flagship, including a centrally located photo module and an LED backlight system with a shorter distance than the brand’s most powerful model.

Nothing Phone (2a) may come with MediaTek processor

One of the key features of the Nothing Phone (2a) is its processor. The brand’s new smartphone is expected to be equipped with an SoC. Mediatek dimension 7200. If so, this will be the first time Nothing has chosen a chip from a Chinese company. In this case, it will be provided with 8 or 12 GB of RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2a) may have a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. It remains to be seen whether the company will opt for a 120Hz refresh rate.

There are no details about the cameras either, but it wouldn’t be strange if the company decided to include the same main sensor as the Nothing Phone (2).

Regarding price and release date, everything indicates that the Nothing Phone (2a) could debut at around 400 euros. That is, it would cost 200 euros less than the brand’s flagship. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.which will take place from February 27 to March 2, 2023.
