The X5 Group has launched the Directors’ Club program in the Perekrestok chain, under which store directors will assume the functions of managers. This is indicated in a message from the retailer.
The project aims to improve the management skills of directors, as well as increase the efficiency of points of sale. In the first stage of the program, 65 people managing supermarkets will participate.
They will be given special status and the authority to independently manage business processes. With expanded powers, CEOs will select employees and control the number of jobs.
They will be able to make decisions on additional bonus payments, change the range of products and introduce various promotions. Participants will be able to take an internal course on the development of management and leadership skills.
As part of the program, the success of Directors’ Club members will be evaluated in terms of financial and operational results, as well as based on customer feedback.
“A supermarket manager must manage the store as if it were his own business: trust the numbers, manage his own performance and business model, develop a culture of collaboration within the team. At the same time, the company will share part of the supermarket’s profits with the director,” the retailer said in a statement.
