When I bought the iPhone 15 Pro Max (here’s our review), I thought that I wouldn’t even think about battery life. But the best is the enemy of the good, so it still suffered from this issue.
My old Apple smartphone didn’t even last until the evening of the first day, and playing with the system parameters most often wasn’t particularly challenging. The new one is discharged immediately after lunch on the second day. Or rather, it was discharged.
I tweaked the device settings a little, and now it most often turns on overnight charging only once every two days. At the same time, I didn’t actually turn off any important functions of the device—it’s an always-on screen.

1. Disable Beta updates for iOS and wait for stable operation.
The updated test versions have never been particularly careful with the battery charger.

Beta versions of iOS usually contain a lot of unoptimized features, as well as information that still works crookedly. Obviously, this does not depend on either user experience or battery life.

3. Disable the Screen Always On feature on the 14/15 Pro.
The always-on screen was not always used, but the overall battery life of the device was noticeably reduced.

To be honest, I don’t even know what the practical point of this thing is.
When you work at a computer, all the necessary information is already on its screen. When on the move, the smartphone most often just lies in your pocket, where its indicator is not visible.
Therefore, I recommend playing for a couple of days with this new fish for many, and then turning it off without a twinge of conscience.
4. Reduce auto-lock time for your smartphone screen.
The less time the screen remains idle, the better for the battery.
Where to see: Settings → Screen and brightness → Auto-lock → 30 seconds.
The screens of all newer Apple smartphones already automatically turn on when you pick them up. Therefore, most often there is little point in keeping them on longer.
5. Turn off all unnecessary Notifications and Location Services.

Many people naively believe that notifications that arrive on a schedule do not put a strain on the smartphone’s battery.
This is wrong. They arrive exactly when they were sent, they just do not appear to device owners right away.
It’s best to use all the tools that you simply don’t need, and use location services apps for no apparent reason.
6. Get rid of Content Updates in unusual software context.
Any background operations, one way or another, gradually discharge the device.

7. Turn off Tracking for most/all apps.

Most often, there is absolutely no practical sense in this, so it is best to get rid of this possibility.
10. Get Rid of Automatic Music/Podcast Downloads

When you add music to your library in Apple Music or a new episode in Podcasts on your Mac, it can automatically download to your iPhone. Sometimes this is convenient, but it does not have a positive effect on battery charging.
Therefore, I recommend downloading only what is really necessary manually. Plus, it’s better to do this while the iPhone is connected to charging.
