A device that can copy wireless signals for keyless entry systems will now be banned from use in the country as part of efforts to combat car theft.

The Canadian government is investing $28 million to increase the capacity of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to conduct increased investigations and checks on stolen vehicles, as well as enhance investigative cooperation and intelligence sharing with partners across Canada and abroad.

This initiative includes research into detection technologies and the use of advanced analytical tools such as artificial intelligence.
