According to US Army Chief of Staff Randy George, about $2 billion has already been spent on the “helicopter of the future” program, and the ministry has requested another $5 billion over the next 5 years.

However, assessment of the latest hostilities in Ukraine showed that “aerial reconnaissance has changed radically.” In this context, the Pentagon will give up manned aerial reconnaissance planes and focus on unmanned helicopter work.

“Sensors and weapons mounted on a variety of unmanned systems and in space are more widespread, longer-range and cheaper than ever before,” George said.
