Agencies recorded a 35% increase in advertising prices on Telegram channels in September-October 2023 compared to the same period last year.
Experts attribute this trend to rising demand and general inflation, as well as penalties imposed for the lack of mandatory advertising labels.
Advertising costs increased across the entire online segment, not just on Telegram, but the overall increase was less pronounced.
Let us recall that the amendments to the Law on Advertising in Russia on September 1, 2022 oblige advertisers, agencies and distributors to inform Roskomnadzor about all advertising campaigns.
This created the need for all online ads to be tagged, which in turn increased their cost.
However, expert opinions are divided on the impact of labeling on advertising prices. While some believe this is one of the factors behind the increase in value, others argue that the increase in popularity of Telegram hosting plays a more important role.
