The Moscow Stock Exchange Group today made two important announcements: about the development of the Corporate Information Center (CIC) and about a new methodology for calculating the main stock index. The latter will come into force on February 21 and the CCI is scheduled to be launched before the end of the year.
TsKI is conceived by the Moscow Stock Exchange as a convenient information center that will collect, then store and provide clients with a full range of data on issuers and securities: ratings, scores, classifiers, reporting data according to IFRS and RAS, financial indicators , multipliers and other coefficients.
The publication of “event calendars” is also planned, which will mark dates or decisions on the payment of dividends on shares and coupons on debt securities, meetings of shareholders or bondholders; carrying out repurchases, offers, conversion of securities; Mergers, acquisitions and company reorganization.
The revision of the methodology for calculating the main stock index, the Moscow Stock Exchange Index, is associated with the desire to “provide the opportunity for stocks with higher indicators of free float and liquidity to be included in exchange indices.”
According to the innovation in calculating the Moscow Stock Exchange Index (the top 50 shares of the largest issuers) and the Broad Market Index (the top 100 shares of issuers with a free float of at least 5%), now when The maximum number of shares in the qualifications are met, some indicators necessary to be included in the lists will not apply.
This means that stocks that have been included in the indices for a long time can give way to “newcomers” with higher indicators of liquidity and capitalization of free-floating securities.
