The decision to shut down the Music + Talk feature, which launched in June, is a major blow to podcasters who share music tracks in their podcasts. Spotify is also shutting down the Save with Friends and Voicemail features, as well as eliminating section creation on mobile and web.
The company says the changes, which will take effect in June, are part of its efforts to shift its focus from legacy tools to “the next generation of podcast innovation.”
With the expansion of the partnership with Riverside, podcasters can now record and edit audio and video podcasts using Riverside directly from within the Spotify for Podcasters web product.
