Some Tesla Cybertruck owners have begun to complain about corrosion of the pickup truck’s steel body.
User Raxar posted photos of his Cybertruck after driving it for two days in the rain. The photographs show that rust is appearing on the body.
Another car owner reported that corrosion had formed on the body of his Cybertruck after 11 days of rain in Los Angeles.
The Cybertruck maintenance documentation contains a warning that the body may be subject to corrosion. This occurs as a result of a stainless steel car not having the protective clear coat found on other cars. As a result, the body is not protected in any way. The only way to protect it is to wrap the pickup in polyurethane film.
Stainless steel, despite its name, can rust. It’s just much more resistant to corrosion than regular metal.
