Yes, YouTube TV was missing this useful feature and many users were complaining on forums and clamoring for faster channel switching. There was a glimmer of hope in December when the “Last Channel Shortcut” was tested on a limited basis, but it quickly faded. Fortunately, the wait is over as YouTube makes this feature available on all platforms starting today.

Long press the Select or OK button on your remote and voila – you’re instantly taken back to the last channel you watched, whether it was live, on-demand or DVR. A short animation and message on the screen confirms the transition

This feature is available for all YouTube TV apps, including Google TV, Roku, Android TV, Fire TV and Apple TV.
