Roskomnadzor added Steam Community to the register of banned sites. The operation of the service was limited by decision of the Ministry of the Interior. Including a resource in a special registry means possible blocking of access to profile pages, friend lists and the trading platform.

The press service of Roskomnadzor noted that a “specific” page of the Steam community was included in the unified register of prohibited information to “disseminate information about narcotic production methods.”
“In connection with the fulfillment of Roskomnadzor’s request to delete information prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation, the website was excluded from the register,” the department said.
Access to this page is not limited, Roskomnadzor noted.
Roskomnadzor has added Steam Community (steamcommunity.com) to the special register of prohibited sites. Information about this appeared on the registry website.
Steam Community is a section of the Steam digital store with communities for users. Limiting its operation possibly means blocking access to profile pages, friend lists, discussions, workshops and trading platforms.
Sites and resources that may contain information the distribution of which is prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation are recorded in a special register of Roskomnadzor.
