Among the organization’s objectives is to support initiatives and best practices for the development of the industry. The tasks of the new organization are to offer tourists better services and technological solutions, as well as to develop industrial standards for the operation of tourist units.

The head of ATAG will be Yulia Skoromolova, she previously headed the tourism agency of the Ulyanovsk region, and then was the GR director of the Alean tour operator. The organization itself is not-for-profit; In the future, other participants in the digital tourism industry may join it.

In 2023, more than 75 million Russians made tourist trips to Russia. President of the Russian Union of the Tourism Industry Ilya Umansky previously announced the target indicators of the national tourism project, according to which by 2030 the tourist flow in the Russian Federation should reach 140 million trips per year.
