Gemini in Messages is capable of handling basic tasks like texting and helping you plan events or just keeping a conversation going when you’re bored. Google says the feature is still in beta and is currently only available to users of the English version of Messages.
Android Auto will also get an AI boost to help reduce distractions from messages while driving. If a group chat is flooding your phone with messages or someone sends you a large text, Android Auto will automatically summarize the messages and read you a shorter version. It will also suggest responses and actions based on messages, so you can respond with one tap and focus on driving.
Google also announced new accessibility features for Android at MWC, including AI-generated image captions in the Lookout app. Descriptions can be created for images found on the internet or received via messages and read out loud to the user. This feature will be available in English, but will gradually roll out globally.
