Unlike its predecessors, Claude 3 is multi-modal, meaning it can process both text and visual information.
Anthropic claims that Claude 3:
- Answers more questions
- Can understand longer and more complex instructions
- More accurate and “contextual”
The Claude 3 series includes three models:
- Claude 3 Haiku – the smallest and fastest
- Claude 3 Sonnet – golden mean
- Claude 3 Opus – the largest and smartest
Opus and Sonnet are currently available on claude.ai and via API, and Haiku will also be released soon. All three models can be used in chatbots, autocompletion, and data extraction systems.
