French company Coperni has released an Air Swipe Bag made from silicon airgel, which is used by NASA to capture stardust.
It is one of the lightest materials in the world. The bag weighs only 33 grams (a little more than six A4 sheets) and can hold an iPhone.
Silicon airgel can withstand temperatures of up to 12 thousand degrees Celsius and pressure of 4 thousand, exceeding its weight. This is not very useful for a bag, but it will come in handy when flying into space.
The Air Swipe bag is part of Coperni’s fall/winter 2024 collection, but the price of the bags is not yet known.
Last year, Coperni released a bag made from meteorite particles found in France in 1968. That bag cost €40 thousand or 3.9 million rubles. [Daily Mail]
