Microsoft said Russian hackers stole valuable information from the company in a sustained attack.
The company believes that the attackers stole a small source code. However, they do not specify which one. Before this, they had been engaged in espionage for a long time and tracked corporate leaders.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen evidence that Midnight Blizzard [Nobelium] uses information originally obtained from our corporate email systems to obtain or provide individuals with unauthorized access.
Confidentiality attack in its access to some of the company’s source code repositories and standard systems. To date, we have not found any evidence that customer-facing systems hosted by Microsoft were compromised.
