The removal of the page caused confusion as Google initially did not provide any explanation. However, the company later confirmed that this was not a mistake but a deliberate decision. They claim that the page is only for Pixel 8 and later devices, so it disappears on older models.

This explanation is confusing. This feature worked great for three months on the stable channel and three months on the beta version. Moreover, there are no signs of any problems with the accuracy of the information displayed.

This move is especially confusing given that Google continues to develop a dedicated Battery Health page in Settings. The feature, which comes with the Android 13 QPR1 beta, will provide a more comprehensive overview of battery health, including capacity estimation and “caution” alerts compared to the new battery.
