The reason for the refusal to work with Russian companies was the European sanctions that the EU imposed on December 18 last year. In particular, the new package introduces a ban on the sale of project management software to Russian organizations.

Dmitry Kuzin, head of Rocket’s marketing department, spoke about the restrictions in the profile of the Telegram channel “The risk of blocking Asana in the Russian Federation.”

“Our partners, represented by Asana, notified us yesterday that due to the release of the latest EU sanctions package, they are no longer able to provide a subscription service to companies whose headquarters are located in the Russian Federation,” said Dmitry Kuzin in a message. .

In the same community, Rocket co-founder and CEO Konstantin Kuznetsov attached a screenshot of a message the company received from Asana. The letter calls for suspending support for companies registered in Russia, as well as terminating all contracts with Russian clients by March 20.

In early summer 2023, task planning and project management service Trello began restricting access to users in Russia; Their accounts were blocked.
