Apple’s free butterfly keyboard repair program for MacBooks ends this year. Most of the MacBooks that fell under this program have long been discontinued from sale and production. The right to free repairs was valid for four years from the date of purchase.
Currently, the program only applies to the 2019 MacBook Pro 13. This laptop is on sale until November 2020, so until November 2024 Apple will be able to replace the keyboard free of charge if it malfunctions.
The service program will then end unless Apple extends it.
