The trade turnover of the Russian Federation with the Asian countries of our near abroad grew by a record 7% in 2023 and reached $56.2 billion (a year earlier it was $52.5 billion) , of which the leaders, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia, accounted for $26 billion, $9.9 billion and $7.3 billion, respectively.

According to RIA Novosti calculations, based on national statistics, although Kazakhstan remained the leader in trade with Russia, its share in the total turnover decreased from 50% to 46%.
Uzbekistan increased trade turnover with the Russian Federation by 5.4% compared to 2022, Armenia – by 1.4 times.
The top five leaders in trade with Russia are Azerbaijan ($4.4 billion, 18% more than the previous year) and Kyrgyzstan ($2.9 billion, 17% less than in 2022).
For Uzbekistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan the volumes achieved are historical maximums and together their participation in the total turnover amounted to 38% (last year it was 33%).
Tajikistan also set a record, increasing the figure by 2.7% to 1.7 billion dollars, but with Georgia, as with Kyrgyzstan, the trade turnover decreased (although with Georgia not so significantly: it was 2.5 billion dollars, now it is 2.4 billion dollars).
